Volume of a cylinder

formula for volume of a cylinder

Find the volume of cylinder whose radius is 8 cm & height is10 cm

Solution:
The formula used for locating the volume of cylinder, is given as,
Volume of cylinder = pi*r2*h
Volume of cylinder = 3.14*82*10

= 3.14*64*10

= 200.96*10

= 2009.6 cm3
The answer is 2009.6 cm3.

Diameter of a circumferance

Diameter of a circumferance:

Diameter of a circle circumference editorial deals with the definition of the diameter & the circumference & the model issue related to it.
Definition of diameter:

Diameter is the longest line in the circle that passes through the middle of the circle. Diameter of the circle is one time of the radius of the circle.
Circumference:

Circumference is defined as the distance around the circle.

Both the diameter & the circumference are measured in the units (like cm, m)

Polygon

Is circle a polygon

Formulas for Area of Polygons and Circles:
Triangle: Area of Triangle = ½ b h

b ---> base

h ---> vertical height
Rectangle: Area of Rectangle = l w

l ----> length

w ----> width
Square: Area of a square = a2

a ----> side length
Parallelogram: Area of Parallelogram = b × h

b ----> breadth

h ----> height
Circle: Area of a Circle = [pi] r2

Formula for volume

what is formula for volume

d = m / v ------------------------Eq. 1
where d is the density, m is the mass & v is volume.
Now in case you are given any three quantities, the third quantity can be calculated. Using equation 1, you can calculate density given mass & volume.
Example 1: If an iron ball has a volume of 100mL & it weighs 780 grams, what is its density? What is its relative density?

d = m / v

d = 780g / 100 mL = 7.8 g/mL
Relative Density or R.D. = density of a substance / density of water
R.D. of Iron = 7.8 g/mL / 1.0 g/mL = 7.8 (dimensionless)
